ABOUT BYB

BYB was founded to satisfy the need for high quality dance education where the students are the priority and are provided with performance opportunities. With a non-competitive and friendly environment, BYB is for and about the students. BYB has been a proud recipient of the NFL Chapter Kentucky Grant. In 2004 BYB was nominated for the Minority Business of the Year Award by Commerce Lexington and in 2005 BYB was winner of the Minority Business of the Year Award.

BYB produces two major performances each year. In previous years BYB has performed their NUTCRACKER IN ONE ACT in December and a story ballet in the spring. All performances are short with an inexpensive admission price and they are always a collaborative effort between BYB faculty, parents and students and local artists and arts organizations. They are designed to give students performing experience and to expose children and adults from the community to dance. Students of all levels (even Creative Movement periodically) will have performing opportunities. Students pay an affordable costume rental fee for each performance.

BYB is currently in the process of becoming a non-profit organization. Our goal is to enhance the community by educating children in the arts and as a result, to provide a better future for them. When the opportunity arises BYB participates in community festivals and fairs and we also provide educational workshops and performances for schools.
